Black History 365- Day 6

Black History is American History

~Follow Jesus~

Part 3: Follow Jesus

So, as we celebrate Black History Month, the descendants of slaves and the descendants of slave owners must deny themselves, take up their cross, and follow Jesus. When we follow Jesus, we must leave our prejudices, stereotypes, and biases behind us because it is a part of Satan’s plan to divide us. Don’t let the devil use you! God is our Father, so that makes us brothers and sisters in Christ. He doesn’t love one race of children more than the other. He doesn’t hold our sins against us. He doesn’t look at everything with a critical eye, but he does delight in the truth! The truth is there’s trouble in the world but he’s overcome the world, so we should not fear past or present mistakes. We shouldn’t attempt to rewrite history. We should tell the next generation that through it all God kept us and blessed us along the way and we should not forget the people in history who had the courage to deny themselves, take up their cross, and follow him. Just think about it. Then, go to the Father and pray about it.
