22 Keys to Joy

Author Dawn Holley is joy personified! When she enters a room, she has the God-given ability to shift atmospheres, not because of who she is, but because of who she serves!

Matthew 5:16 states, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” 22 Keys to Joy is a part of the author’s “good works,” and her hearts desire is for God to be glorified on this soul searching journey.

What I enjoyed most about this book would have to be the witty and creative ways the author illustrated how to seek the truest form of joy. For example, the title of Chapter 11 is Savor Savior- Chocolate Meditation! The author provided the readers with a step-by-step meditation that actually included eating chocolate. That is a chocolate lover’s dream come true!

Step 1: Open the packet. Inhale the aroma. Let it sweep over you.
Step 2: Break off a piece and look at it. Really let your eyes drink in what it looks like, examining every nook and cranny.

There are three additional steps like this on page 82. Please purchase the book today and go straight to Chapter 11 if you’d like. I won’t tell anyone. Eating chocolate has never been so satisfying. Our sixteen-year-old daughter and our eleven-year-old daughter both love chocolate equally, so this was a great opportunity to teach them how to savor moments with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, tangibly! Perhaps you could consider doing this as a family activity. (We did). Somehow the chocolate got stuck on the roof of my husband’s mouth, so that created a new memory for us. The look on his face was priceless, but step four can help with moments like this!

Nevertheless, this illustration gave us an opportunity to plant a seed in our children’s lives. A seed that will one day grow into the understanding that moments with the Savior are even sweeter than our favorite desserts and the great thing is we do not have to limit ourselves to just one or two moments with him! Don’t worry! If you are not a chocolate lover, the author offers an alternative. “You can also use fresh organic strawberries or another sweet fruit, like peaches” (pg. 82).

While I focused on Chapter 11 to show how witty and creative the author is, Author Dawn Holley “shares 22 ways to detox from negativity and shift perspective to align with God’s promises to equip you to experience abundant joy“ in her book 22 Keys to Joy. Please get your copy today!
