Energy
I don’t know about you, but I’ve read a lot of social media posts about “energy” lately. One post said, “I’m matching energy today, so how are we going to act?” Another post said, “I’m matching energy this year, so whatever you’re on, I’m on it too.” From what I could gather, “energy” of that kind refers to negative and positive actions and reactions. Based on this philosophy, we’ve reached a point in time when enough is enough! It’s time for us to treat people the way they treat us.
Satisfying Our Flesh
For example, when people disrespect us based on their prejudices toward us, clapping back is often our first response. How do I know that? I know that because I’ve traveled that road on more than one occasion in my life. In certain situations, I anticipated the negative comments and energy. So much so, that I had a comeback ready every single time, but MY ACTIONS contradicted the word of God.
Scripture
Ephesians 4:29-32 ESV states, “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”
It hits differently when you realize YOUR actions grieve Holy Spirit.
As for the Believer!
As believers in Christ Jesus, we are the head and not the tail. We serve The Great I Am. We are not matching energy with the world. The world is broken. The world is lost. The world is fighting about a mermaid’s race. The world is wrapped up in their truth, but we know the truth. The truth is God loved the world so much that he sent his son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins and He rose again with all power in his hands. Do you know what that means? Of course, you do! It means Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. The world doesn’t control us. We belong to Him and he overcame the world. We are more than conquerors. We are a part of a royal priesthood. We’ve been called to be salt and light here on the Earth. Our light can’t be hidden; therefore, we can’t match the world’s energy. The world needs to match our energy! Our energy produces the fruit of the spirit. “…The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law”(Galatians 5:22-23 NIV). These things represent Christ who lives inside every believer. If you’re a believer, you don’t have time to be matching energy with the world. Just think about it. Then, go to the Father and pray about it. Soul searching with Our Father!
