Joy to the Office is the first book in our Soul Searching romance series. This lighthearted, romantic comedy takes us on a soul-searching journey concerning the true meaning of joy during the Christmas season.
In our Prologue, we have the pleasure of meeting our heroine, Joy Bell. Joy is a very busy woman. With Christmas approaching, her calendar is full. She has places to be and people to see. Joy can’t let something like a 9:00 AM-5:00 PM work schedule interfere with her plans. She can’t work full time in the office and maintain her social calendar, so working remotely suits her just fine. Besides, she can wear her soft, comfy Christmas pajamas and socks during stressful business meetings. Once she logs off, Joy can eat delicious gingerbread cookies and drink hot chocolate with extra marshmallows to chase the blues away. This happened at least two or three times a week.
To her dismay, Joy receives an email informing her that everyone must return to the office the Monday after Thanksgiving. Joy hadn’t been in the office in nearly four years. Let’s just say she wasn’t prepared to go back into the office full time before Christmas.

A Soul Searching Moment
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope” (Romans 15:13).
Somewhere along the way, Joy became self-indulgent during the pandemic. Despite her work duties, which were quite demanding, she filled her calendar with activities that brought her joy. To her, joy was a feeling that could be cultivated through careful planning, and going back into the office was not a part of her plan. So, what is your definition of joy? Think about it. Then go to the Father and pray about it.
