“It was a pivotal time for the Civil Rights Movement. It was also a turning for the worst in my life. It was the year my eyes were opened to the real reason for the differences I experienced growing up. This was the time I allowed the anger and the hatred to enter my heart,” Patricia Jefferson said.
Mrs. Patricia Jefferson was born on February 10, 1948 in Birmingham, Alabama. According to Mrs. Jefferson, the city was divided because of segregation; however, she did not truly understand what was happening in their city until her teen years.
